Neal Berger - Founder, President and Chief Investment Officer
Neal Berger is the Founder of Eagle’s View Capital Management, LLC, a hedge fund advisory firm and the investment manager to a number of fund-of-fund vehicles. Mr. Berger has over 25 years of experience on Wall Street and has been in the hedge fund industry for over 20 years. He has been allocating to hedge funds for over 18 years.
Prior to founding Eagle’s View, Mr. Berger was the Founder and Director of the multi-strategy funds Apogee Fund, Ltd. and New Edge, Ltd. Mr. Berger had previously been employed as a global macro trader at New York-based Millennium Partners.
Mr. Berger has allocated capital to hedge funds on behalf of wealthy families and has also been employed as a Vice President of Proprietary Trading with Chase Manhattan Bank and Fuji Bank in New York. He also served as Vice President and senior member of a proprietary trading group for Union Bank of Switzerland. Mr. Berger started his career as a Financial Analyst at Morgan Stanley. Mr. Berger earned a B.A. in Economics from the State University of New York at Albany.
Chris McGuire - Chief Investment Officer
Chris McGuire previously founded Phalanx, a multi-strategy firm focused on the Japanese market. Phalanx had a successful track record of over 15 years before shutting down due to a decline in Japanese convertible bond issuance. Prior to Phalanx, Chris managed the Japanese multi-strategy portfolio for Daiwa Securities America, the Japanese and Asian relative value trading book for the Spear, Leeds & Kellogg division of Goldman Sachs, and the Japanese convertible bond portfolio for Marin Capital Partners.
Chris served as Director of Convertible Bonds and Derivative sales for Merrill Lynch-London, CB sales for SBC Warburg-Tokyo, and Equity Derivative sales for Barclays Bank in New York. He started his career as a floor trader in the soybean and wheat options pits of the Chicago Board of Trade. Chris is a graduate of Marquette University.
Chris is a regular financial contributor to television programs on Bloomberg, CNN, and Japanese news on NHK News Japan and TV Tokyo. He has been quoted and profiled in a number of industry publications, including Asian Investor, Bloomberg News, AsiaHedge, and Hedgeweek.
Joel Rudin - Chief Operating Officer
Joel Rudin is Chief Operating Officer at Eagle’s View Capital Management and has worked in key operational roles in the financial service industry for over 15 years. Prior to joining Eagle’s View, Mr. Rudin served as Executive Director for UBS Financial Services where he oversaw the servicing of approximately 1 million individual clients. Prior to his tenure at UBS, Mr. Rudin spent several years at Merrill Lynch where he was involved in the infrastructure development and vendor management for their national wealth management platform.
Mr. Rudin earned a B.A. in Anthropology from the State University of New York at Albany, and he earned a Master’s from Canisius College in Buffalo, New York. He also serves on the Board of Directors for the Closter Nature Center in Closter, New Jersey.
Xufeng “Bill” Hua - Chief Financial Officer and Director of Quantitative Analysis
Bill Hua is Chief Financial Officer and Director of Quantitative Analysis at Eagle’s View Capital Management, LLC.
Previously, Mr. Hua served as a Rating Analyst Intern at SkyRank System of Hedge Fund Rating, focusing on hedge funds and fund of hedge funds. In addition, he has served as an International Trade Specialist in Xiamen, China.
Mr. Hua earned a B.A. in International Trade and Economics with a minor in Japanese from Nanchang University, China. He also earned a Master’s in Finance from Clark University, where he served as a Graduate Teaching Assistant: Financial Econometrics and International Finance. He has also completed the Bloomberg Essentials Training Program for Equity, FX, Fixed Income and Commodities.
Mr. Hua is a CFA charter holder. He is also a member of Beta Gamma Sigma, the international honor society for business students, graduates and scholars.
David Margulies - Chief Compliance Officer
David Margulies is General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer at Eagle’s View Capital Management. Previously, Mr. Margulies served as a Membership Application Examiner at Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA), evaluating broker-dealer applicants’ business plans, policies and procedures, financials, and disciplinary history. In addition, he was a Summer Associate in Corporate Litigation at Arkin Kaplan Rice. Mr. Margulies earned a B.A. in Philosophy, Politics & Law from Binghamton University and J.D. from St. John’s University School of Law. Mr. Margulies is licensed to practice law in New York State and New Jersey.
Arman Mikayelyan - Head of Due Diligence
Arman Mikayelyan is the Director of Due Diligence at Eagle’s View Capital Management, LLC where he focuses on sourcing and evaluating potential hedge fund investments and monitoring the funds in the existing portfolio.
Mr. Mikayelyan has 15 years of experience in the financial industry working as a trader at hedge funds and proprietary trading groups. Mr. Mikayelyan started his career as a trader capitalizing on market inefficiencies and high frequency trading with NYSE listed stocks, and subsequently spent a number of years as a proprietary trader successfully managing a portfolio across equity strategies.
Mr. Mikayelvan earned his B.A. in Accounting from Hartwick College.
Phillip Vitale - Investment Sourcing and Due Diligence
Phillip Vitale is responsible for investment sourcing and due diligence at Eagle’s View Capital Management, LLC. Prior to joining Eagle’s View, Mr. Vitale was a Director at Benchmark Plus Management, LLC where he sourced and evaluated investments on behalf of this portable alpha and hedge fund specialist. Before Benchmark Plus, Mr. Vitale was founding partner of a startup hedge fund focused on transformational equities, the Chief Investment Officer of Seattle-based wealth management firm Filament, LLC, the Head of Quantitative Research at hedge fund investment firm Quellos Group (acquired by BlackRock) and initially began his career at Russell Investments within the firm’s trading group. Mr. Vitale earned his B.A. in Business at Washington State University and his M.B.A. from the Chicago Booth School of Business.
